When PJ gave Maggie a Christmas present in the Season 4 finale, 'Possession', it wasn't actually in the script.  Martin and Lisa just decided to put it in!

Blue Heelers  was originally named "Boys in Blue".  (!!)

Tasma Walton and Jane Allsop both had guest roles on BH before landing their regular roles.

Suzi Dougherty has appeared on BH prior to her current role as Dr Melanie Carter.  In fact, when she returned to play Dr Carter in season 6, she says John Woods commented that he "had arrested me twice before and so what was I doing back?"

Martin Sacks once described the 'Gold' episode, where Maggie and PJ became trapped in a mine, as "One of the most ridiculous episodes we shot. But it did get Maggie and PJ together!"

Jane Allsop auditioned for the role of Dash McKinley.

Lisa McCune originally auditioned for the role of Wayne's wife, Roz Patterson.

Martin Sacks' and William McInnes' characters were originally called "PJ Shultz" and "Nick Hasham".  The surnames were switched just before the shooting of the first episode.

Peta Doodson, who plays Inspector Monica Draper, is a qualified nurse who has worked on the Blue Heelers set as a medical advisor and a nurse on many occasions.
